Writing With Integrity in the Age of AI

I’m voice‑dictating this to Copilot, and it feels like the right moment to share how I use AI in my creative writing practice — especially as conversations about authorship and technology continue to evolve. I’ve completed the third eco‑fiction novel in my Erenwine trilogy, Rail: A High Speed Adventure, which I’m aiming to publish in May 2026. With that milestone, I want to speak directly to readers, writers, and the many architects and engineers in my network who have followed my work over the years.

The trilogy begins with The Erenwine Agenda: A Hydraulic Fracturing Love Story, where we meet the protagonist, Amalia Sengupta Erenwine, as an architectural intern navigating environmental ethics, design responsibility, and the complexities of early‑career practice. The second novel, Otter Coast: A Medical Marijuana Mystery, follows her into a new region and a new set of ecological and relational challenges. Across the series, we watch her evolve — professionally, personally, and ethically — through landscapes shaped by climate, infrastructure, and human impact. The first two novels in the trilogy were written entirely without AI, long before I incorporated those digital tools into my workflow.
